Joanna Mosca Spring/Summer Updates: Merchandise Store & Much More

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are having a wonderful Spring and looking forward to a great Summer!  I know I am!

As most of you know, I spent the early part of this year on tour in Canada and the US with the extraordinarily talented singer/songwriter, Martin Sexton.  What a thrill and what an experience.  Audiences in both countries were very welcoming and responsive to my music.  Touring can be exhausting, but this was well worth every moment spent either in a car or on a plane.  I loved meeting new fans and saying hello to old ones.  If you were at one of the shows - thank you again for supporting live music in addition to your support of my CD!  To view photos of the tour, visit the photos section on my Facebook Fan Page

Home from the road! Finished the second leg of my tour with Martin Sexton!

Whew - what a whirlwind tour, but it was great. I came down with the flu at the end of the tour, but at least it held off until the END of the tour! What an amazing ride it was and thanks to everyone for all their support!

This go round we started in Bozeman, Montana.  Loved the Bozeman crowd! It's a great town and home of the original Ted's Montana Grill located in Bozeman's Historic Baxter Hotel. (Of course I had to go there to eat a delicious bison burger.)
The Baxter Hotel in Bozeman, MN
Our gig was in the amazing theater space at The Emerson Cultural Center. The center is just a few years old and is beautifully designed with courtyards, sculptures, unique works of art, etc. This was such a great theater to perform in with their state-of-the-art lights and sound.

Next we moved on to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, passing through Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. Gorgeous scenery and some Bison sightings! I fell in love with the charming little town of Jackson Hole tucked right into the middle of the massive mountains.
Jackson Hole, WY
Great theater and audience at the Jackson Hole Center for the Arts.  Thanks guys for being so into my music!

Next stop, Colorado.  We had three shows in the state, the first being in Steamboat Springs.  We played the Ghost Ranch Saloon.  Steamboat Springs was another beautiful mountain town.  So picturesque!  I also really enjoyed seeing some friends at that performance.  It is a real treat to see a familiar face in the crowd when you are on the road, doing so much travelling.  Thanks Cory and gang!

Loved performing at Belly Up in Aspen, Colorado. Amazing space and sound! Really nice light/sound crew!! Thanks Mike, Jay, Sam and Kyle!  Check out the pic of this beautiful club below.

All right, gotta keep moving because our next gig is in Breckenridge, Colorado at Three20South.  Our drive from Aspen to Breckenridge took us through Vail,  and we saw lots of streams, and of course, snow covered mountains mixed with evergreen groves. It inspired me and reminded me of what a beautiful country we live in.
Downtown Breckinridge, CO
Loved the town of Breckenridge, this was one of my favorite stops. Performed at Three20South  which was a little different than some of the other venues because the audience is standing right up close to the stage. Loved all the great energy! I also had friends come to the show here and again, it was so great to see them. Thanks Breckenridge and thanks to Shirley and friends for being there!

From Breckenridge we drove (9 hours, yuck!) to Omaha. Nebraska.  The scenery changed quite dramatically. No more mountains. lots of flat, desert-like open spaces.  After recovering from our drive I spent some time walking around the Old Market District in downtown Omaha. There are many restored 19th century brick warehouses and buildings which are now home to great shops and restaurants.

Our performance was booked at the Holland Performing Arts Center. We had another packed house, and another great audience! Thank you Omaha!!

After the 9 hour drive to Omaha, we just couldn't bear a 13 hour drive to Cleveland, Ohio so we flew there. Definitely the way to go! Loved Cleveland and had a chance to visit the amazing Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.   Our gig was at the Beachland Ballroom and it was a perfect way to end the tour.  Great room and a great Cleveland crowd!

All in all I have to say - what an exhilarating experience!  Martin Sexton is an amazing performer and I was thrilled to be touring with him.  Many thanks to my two great guitar players, Freddy Shehadi on the first leg of the tour and Carl Allocco on the second half.  I couldn't have done it without you guys!!!

Thanks also to my incredibly supportive family, friends and fans - I'm so grateful for you all.

Thanks for checking in and I'll keep you posted on my plans for the spring!

Brief hiatus from tour, then heading out West with Martin Sexton!

From Montreal to Duluth, with lots of snowstorms in between, the first leg of this winter tour has been a wonderful adventure!
Audiences everywhere have been very enthusiastic and supportive and I'm having a really great time performing and learning to just go with the flow of being on the road.  If we run into a snowstorm and barely make it to the club and I don't have time to shower - what the heck!  I just splash some water on my face, add lipstick and heels, warm up the voice and go out there and do it!

Next week we head out west to Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and Nebraska, then back east to Ohio.  I'm looking forward to exploring them all!  I have never been to Colorado and I'm especially looking forward to taking in Aspen and Steamboat Springs and meeting up with friends in Breckenridge. Nebraska, Montana and Wyoming will be firsts as well and what's not to love about Cleveland, Ohio!  I hope I have time to check out the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame while I'm there.

Below are some pics from the past couple of weeks - hope you enjoy!

Highlights of 2010 and Upcoming Tour Information

What a year it was!  Very exciting and busy, and I'm very happy with how 2011 is shaping up!

This is what 2010 was like for me:

After releasing my debut CD in Dec. 09, the title cut and first single, "Keep on Going",  made it to number 6 on the FMQB a/c radio charts.  The song was then released to Country Radio early in 2010.  In February and March I went on a tour to Country radio stations in the South and saw some great sites in AL, TN, GA, KY and VA (some of them through ice and snowstorms!).  I met some wonderful people and had a great time seeing this beautiful part of our country.

In the spring I had a little time off and visited Tuscany, Budapest, Vienna and Prague with family and friends.

During the summer, the single, "Keep on Going", was released to major market a/c radio. We were extremely happy that the song made the top 30! We were only one of 2 indy artists to have that distinction. (BTW, the other indy artist to make top 30, was Brooke White from American Idol fame.)

After the success of "Keep on Going" on Country radio, we released our second single to Country fans, "Like I'm Leaving". The song was played on nearly 100 country radio stations around the U.S. and so we hit the road for the month of August!  Back to TN, KY and MO. Saw some old friends and met some new. Also visited KS and OK for the first time. Lots of oil wells and wide open spaces! and wonderful people!

The month of September was spent rehearsing for an appearance at the legendary Towne Crier Cafe in New York. This was the  first time singing the new songs live with a full band. Great crowd, great band, great time!!

November and December found me busy with family, planning for the holidays and also preparing for my upcoming tour with  Martin Sexton!
That right - in January and February I'll be going on tour with the incredibly talented singer/songwriter Martin Sexton, who John Mayer called the best live performer he has ever seen! You can check out Martin's website at www.MartinSexton.com.  I think this will be a terrific tour and I look forward to performing in so many interesting cities.

Below, I've posted all of the tour dates and locations. Hopefully I'll be in a city near you! Please let me know if you'll be attending any of the shows- I would love to hear from you.

And, if you happen to be flying Delta Airlines in January or February you can tune into their Hello Music Independent Channel, which is channel 9A, and hear my song "Keep on Going."

It's been a wonderful year. I have enjoyed hearing from new fans from around the world and I'm grateful for the support I've received.

Wishing everyone joy, prosperity and above all, good health for the New Year!

Keep on Going!

Joanna
